About

Real boxes. Real shelves. One place for game night.

Boardem takes your BoardGameGeek collection, looks up the actual size of every box, and works out how it all fits on the shelves you actually own. Then it gives your playgroup the tools to decide what to play and when.

What it does

The shelf

Load your BoardGameGeek (BGG) collection and Boardem fetches each game's published box dimensions. A 3D bin-packing algorithm places every box into your shelf units, cubby by cubby, in the orientation that fits. You can pin games to a cubby, merge cubbies, set per-unit sizes and fill limits, sort by colour, type or how often you play, and see at a glance what does not fit. It is a model of your real shelf, not an illustration of one.

The group

From the same collection you can plan a Game Night, a Game Day or a whole Weekend of sessions. Friends vote on what to play, mark when they are free, and get a schedule. Boardem also keeps play logs, stats, tier lists, loans in and out, a wishlist and a shelf of shame, and a public profile you can share.

On your phone

Boardem installs as a web app and works offline. The phone layout is built around tonight: who is coming, what won the vote, what is on loan.

How it is built

Who makes it

Boardem is made by David Moss, a board game collector who wanted to know whether the next box would fit before it arrived. It started as a shelf packer for one collection and grew into the tool a playgroup needs to actually get games to the table.
